Spendless Terms of Use

Parties to the Contract

These Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") govern the use of the Spendless mobile application and its associated website (https://spendless.io) operated by:

Meduza Studio – legal information provided in Annex 1 (hereinafter the “Company”)

and any natural or legal person using the mobile Application or the Website (hereinafter the "User").

The Company and the User are referred to individually as a "Party" and collectively as the "Parties".

Explicit consent: During registration, the User checks a box confirming they have read and unconditionally accepted these Terms. Without this confirmation, access to the Services is not granted.

1. Definitions

Term	Definition
Application / Website	The mobile application and the Spendless website, published by the Company and available via official app stores and https://spendless.io.
Account	Personal space created by the User during registration, giving access to the Services.
Content	Any data (text, image, logo, etc.) imported or generated by the User within the Application or Website.
Services	Manual expense entry, categorization, visualization, analysis, export, logo library, etc.
Personal Data	Information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, processed as part of the Services.
API	Secure interface enabling data exchange between the Application, Website, and the Company’s servers.

Preface

Spendless is a mobile application (and associated website) developed by Meduza Studio, allowing users to manually track expenses, categorize them, and visualize their budget through simple tools, without bank connections or financial advice services.

The Application is intended for personal, informational, and independent use. It does not enable payments or online purchases, and does not connect users with third parties. The experience is 100% private and confidential.

These Terms aim to define the conditions for accessing the Application and governing the use of the provided Services.

2. Purpose

The Terms define:

Conditions for accessing and using the Application and Website;
Rights and obligations of the Parties;
Applicable warranties, limitations, and liabilities.

3. Access, Registration, and Security

3.1 Account Creation

Access to the Services requires creating an Account via form or third-party provider (Google, Apple). The User:

declares legal capacity to use the Application, or uses it under supervision and with permission of a legal guardian;
provides accurate and up-to-date information;
chooses personal and confidential credentials.

3.2 Security

The User is solely responsible for their credentials. Any action performed from their Account is attributable to them. In case of suspected unauthorized access, they must immediately change their password and notify the Company.

4. Description of Services

Manual entry of transactions;
Automatic or manual categorization;
Interactive dashboards;
Analysis and budget alerts for informational purposes only (see warranty disclaimer);
CSV / Excel export;
Logo library (see § 8.2).

Spendless is not a regulated financial advisor. No automatic bank connection is provided: all data comes from the User.

The Company may update the Services or temporarily suspend access (maintenance, updates). It will strive to notify Users and minimize impact.

5. Pricing and Payment

Free version: basic features;
Premium version: advanced features (unlimited categorization, multi-device sync, priority support, etc.) via monthly/yearly subscription.

Payments are processed by app stores or Stripe. Billing and cancellation policies are those of the respective distributor.

6. Personal Data

Personal data processing is detailed in the Spendless Privacy Policy. Key principles:

No selling or sharing of data with third parties;
Encryption of sensitive fields (transaction name & description, account names) at rest;
TLS 1.3 encryption in transit;
Right to access, rectify, delete or export data via privacy@spendless.io.

7. Enhanced Security and Confidentiality

Spendless implements technical (network segmentation, encrypted backups, penetration tests) and organizational measures (minimal access policy, regular audits) in line with industry standards.

No data is used for advertising purposes.

8. Intellectual Property and Content

8.1 Company Assets

The Application, Website, code, design, and “Spendless” branding are protected and remain the exclusive property of the Company.

8.2 User Content & Logo Library

The User retains full rights. They authorize the Company to store and display content to deliver the Services, without ownership transfer or commercial use.

The logo library:

is provided solely to help visually identify transactions;
implies no advertising, endorsement, or partnership;
is manually selected by the User;
logos remain the property of their respective owners.

The Company declines all responsibility in case of:

incorrect association by the User;
inaccuracy or outdated display;
claims from trademark holders (contact: contact@spendless.io).

The Company may remove any logo or this feature without notice.

9. Disclaimer & Liability

9.1 Financial Data Disclaimer

All calculations, projections, and analyses are indicative only. No financial result is guaranteed. The User remains solely responsible for their decisions.

9.2 User Responsibility

Use the Application lawfully, provide accurate data, protect credentials.

9.3 Company Responsibility

Best-effort obligation. The Company is not liable for:

User financial decisions;
Indirect damages;
Failures of third parties (App Store, Stripe, hosting provider).

Maximum liability: the amount paid by the User in the last 12 months.

10. Data Export & Deletion

The User may:

Export all their data anytime (CSV/JSON);
Delete their Account via settings. Data will be erased from servers within 30 days, unless legally required otherwise.

11. Takedown Notice (DMCA / Third-party rights)

Anyone who believes hosted content on Spendless infringes their rights (copyright, trademark, etc.) may send a detailed notice to legal@spendless.io. The Company will investigate and, if appropriate, remove the content promptly.

12. User Commitments

use the Services legally, fairly, and in accordance with these Terms;
not interfere with or disrupt the Application;
not share illegal, inappropriate, or third-party infringing content (images, texts, etc.);
respect the intellectual property rights of the Company and others.

Any abusive, fraudulent, or non-compliant behavior may result in account suspension or termination.

13. Cookies

The Spendless website (https://spendless.io) only uses cookies strictly necessary for service functionality (language preferences, security). No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

Users can configure their browser to block cookies, though some features may not work optimally.

14. Hyperlinks

The Application and Website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., articles, partners). These are provided for informational purposes. The Company does not control such sites and disclaims all liability for their content, security, or functionality.

Users are encouraged to consult the terms of use of any third-party sites before interacting with them.

15. Support & Assistance

The Company provides support for any questions related to Spendless usage.

Feedback, suggestions, and bug reports are welcome. They help improve the user experience.

16. Language

These Terms are translated into English. In case of discrepancy, the original French version shall prevail.

17. Suspension – Termination

The Company may suspend or terminate a User’s access for serious breach of the Terms or by court order, after notice and—except in urgent cases—a 15-day delay.

18. Changes to the Terms

The Company may update the Terms at any time. A notification (email or in-app) will be sent to Users before changes take effect.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.
